Our Story & Growth

Our Story

R House Ministries was born in January 2023 from a simple but courageous vision placed on Pastor Ashley Miller’s heart:  to see women who had been overlooked, exploited, and forgotten reminded of their God-given worth. With no building and no guarantees, she stepped onto the streets of Dayton—into alleys, corners, and hidden places—bringing presence, compassion, and hope. In that first year, R House Ministries served 561 women through Street Outreach alone, focusing on what mattered most first:  trust, dignity, and relationship.

That commitment continues today. R House Ministries still goes out into areas of Dayton affected by homelessness and street prostitution, meeting women exactly where they are. Each encounter begins with something small but powerful—a rose and a handwritten card—tangible reminders that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved through the eyes of Christ. Alongside encouragement, women receive hot, home-cooked meals, clothing, and essential hygiene items, meeting immediate needs while planting seeds of hope.

In March 2023, Pastors Ashley and Wesley Miller took a bold step of faith by purchasing and renovating a storefront to become a trauma-informed Day Center. On January 11, 2024—National Human Trafficking Awareness Day—R House Ministries opened its doors. That year, 1,581 women walked through those doors and found more than services; they found safety, consistency, and care. The Day Center offers rest, showers, hot meals, clean clothing, case management, peer support, recovery resources—and, above all, love without a cost or condition.

Growth continued in 2025 as R House Ministries entered its third year, serving 2,800 women while expanding services and strengthening operations. Each number represents a story, a life touched, and a woman reminded that her life matters.

Now, as R House Ministries enters its fourth year of impact in 2026, the mission is deepening. The organization is focused on strengthening measurable outcomes, refining programs, and building long-term sustainability so that no woman seeking hope is ever turned away.

At this pivotal moment, donor support is more critical than ever. Donor generosity makes it possible for R House Ministries to continue meeting women in their most vulnerable moments—and walking with them toward healing, restoration, and lasting change.
